The apartment is located in the Lower East Side (LES), a small neighborhood within the city itself. This district was developed at the turn of the century as tenement housing for the immigrants that resided within the city. Today this area is going through a historic renaissance making it the unrivaled epicenter of art, design, music, food, culture and nightlife of Manhattan.
The rest of New York is at your doorstep as well with this amazing location. The East Village literally is crossed the street; Lolita (North of Little Italy), Chinatown, The Bowery are three blocks away; Soho (South of Houston) is four blocks away; The West Village, N.Y.U, Financial District, World Trade Center site are a twenty minute walk. For those of you that are more adventurous, the F train is right outside the door to take you to Central Park, Museum Mile, and beyond.
